Inelastic light scattering by large structured particles.

Autocorrelation functions are computed for nonspherical particles whose dimensions are comparable to or greater than the wavelength of scattered light. Particular attention is given to models of motile microorganisms. Results for Gaussian ellipsoids, finite thin rods, ellipsoids with internal structures, and dumbbell-shaped scatterers are derived and compared.

New results from inelastic two-body scattering reactions are reviewed. Although predictions of SU(3), factorization and simple Regge theory are found to be qualitatively in agreement with the data, direct channel or absorption effects afford the simplest interpretation of the detailed features of the scattering amplitudes.

Deep Inelastic Scattering

Recent deep inelastic results from the H1 collaboration are presented. The topics covered include inclusive diffractive physics, the determination of αS using the event shapes, the study of the hadronic final state at low x with single particles and with jets, the structure function measurements in particular F p 2 at low Q and the high Q physics both in neutral and charged current.
